Company Introduction
Essar Oil and Gas is an integrated energy company involved in exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources across onshore and offshore locations in India.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare drilling fluid formulations using laboratory tested mud recipes, chemical dosage sheets, and density control charts.
- Supervise cement slurry preparation using mixing units, cementing pumps, and approved slurry design documents.
- Monitor wellbore stability parameters through mud weight logs, rheology reports, and circulation records.
- Control loss circulation events using loss control material schedules and real time well monitoring systems.
- Review cement job reports, pressure charts, and displacement volumes after each cementing stage.
- Maintain drilling fluid inventory registers, chemical consumption logs, and logistics movement records.
Skills and Technical Exposure
- Drilling fluid laboratory equipment including viscometers, mud balances, and filtration testers.
- Cementing units, batch mixers, high pressure pumps, and density monitoring devices.
- Loss circulation material systems and well control monitoring instruments.
- API and DGM S guidelines, mud reports, and cement job documentation.
- Wellsite data monitoring software and daily drilling report formats.
Experience Context
- Onsite exposure at coal bed methane drilling locations with low fracture pressure formations.
- Handling continuous drilling and cementing programs across multiple wells and rigs.
- Absence of this role results in unstable wellbores, poor zonal isolation, and increased non productive time.
