Core Responsibilities
- Inspect MDPE pipeline alignment using approved drawings, route maps, and field survey records.
- Verify trench dimensions and bedding conditions with measuring tapes, depth gauges, and inspection checklists.
- Observe pipe jointing and electrofusion work using fusion machines and joint logs.
- Monitor horizontal directional drilling crossings with bore profiles and drilling records.
- Witness pneumatic testing and purging using pressure gauges, test logs, and safety permits.
- Review gas charging readiness through commissioning documents and site verification sheets.
Skills and Technical Exposure
- Electrofusion jointing machines for MDPE pipelines.
- Pneumatic pressure testing equipment and calibrated gauges.
- Non destructive testing level two methods for pipeline inspection.
- Horizontal directional drilling alignment and bore records.
- Pipeline route drawings, crossing drawings, and inspection checklists.
Experience Context
- Work takes place on active city gas distribution pipeline corridors and crossing zones.
- Inspection coverage includes multiple kilometers of pipeline with daily joint and test verification.
- Without this role, pipeline integrity confirmation, testing clearance, and charging readiness break down.
