Core Responsibilities
- Check reinforcement placement, shuttering alignment, and slab levels on building floors using measuring tapes, spirit levels, and bar bending schedules.
- Review civil drawings and mark grid lines, center lines, and reference points on site using total station layouts and approved drawings.
- Inspect masonry, plaster, tiling, and finishing surfaces against specification documents and sample panels.
- Record daily site progress, material consumption, and manpower deployment in site registers and progress formats.
- Witness concrete pouring, cube casting, and curing practices using slump cones, cube molds, and curing logs.
- Verify installed doors, windows, and fixtures against BOQ quantities and approved material submittals.
Skills & Technical Exposure
- AutoCAD drawings, structural layouts, and architectural plans.
- Total station instruments, dumpy levels, and leveling staffs.
- Cube compression testing reports and slump test methods.
- BOQ documents, bar bending schedules, and material approval files.
- Finishing material specifications for flooring, plaster, and paint systems.
Experience Context
- Work takes place at active building construction sites involving multi-storey structures.
- Daily handling includes concrete pours, reinforcement checks, and finishing work across large floor areas.
- Without on-site civil monitoring, structural tolerances, finishing quality, and construction sequencing break down.
