Core Responsibilities
- Receive food samples at the laboratory intake desk and assign sample codes using laboratory registers.
- Prepare test portions by weighing grinding and homogenizing samples using laboratory equipment.
- Perform residue analysis using liquid chromatography mass spectrometry and gas chromatography mass spectrometry systems.
- Conduct proximate analysis by measuring moisture ash protein fat and carbohydrate values using approved methods.
- Record raw data in controlled worksheets and generate analytical result sheets.
- Maintain instrument usage logs calibration records and sample traceability documents.
Skills and Technical Exposure
- Liquid chromatography mass spectrometry and gas chromatography mass spectrometry instruments.
- Analytical balances homogenizers centrifuges and sample preparation tools.
- Residue testing methods and food proximate analysis techniques.
