NPEC is an engineering services organization engaged in fabrication and industrial project delivery for structural and mechanical applications.
Core Responsibilities
- Inspect fabricated steel components using measuring gauges, weld gauges, and visual inspection checklists at the fabrication yard.
- Review material test certificates, welding procedure specifications, and inspection test plans against approved drawings.
- Verify weld joints through non destructive testing reports and record observations in inspection logbooks.
- Check dimensional compliance of fabricated members using tapes, vernier calipers, and leveling instruments.
- Stamp inspection reports and compile quality dossiers for submission to project documentation files.
- Monitor surface preparation and coating thickness using dry film thickness gauges.
Skills and Technical Exposure
- Non destructive testing methods including ultrasonic testing and radiographic testing.
- Welding procedure specifications and procedure qualification records.
- Inspection test plans and material test certificates.
- Dry film thickness gauges and weld measurement gauges.
- Fabrication drawings and approved general arrangement drawings.
Experience Context
- Work is carried out at steel fabrication yards handling large structural assemblies.
- Daily inspection covers multiple fabricated members, weld joints, and coating areas.
- Absence of this role leads to unverified fabrication quality and rejected structures at site.
