Core Responsibilities
- Set up robotic welding cells using Yaskawa controllers, welding fixtures, and approved line layout drawings.
- Monitor shift wise production boards and record component quantities in daily production registers.
- Adjust welding torch positions and fixture clamps based on dimensional inspection sheets.
- Check manpower deployment sheets and material issue slips against line requirement charts.
- Inspect finished welded assemblies using gauges, templates, and visual inspection checklists.
- Attend minor line stoppages by resetting machines and replacing basic mechanical parts.
Skills and Technical Exposure
- Robotic welding systems including Yaskawa controllers and welding robots.
- Automated production lines with conveyors, fixtures, and safety interlocks.
- Welding gauges, measuring templates, and dimensional inspection tools.
- Standard operating procedure documents and quality inspection checklists.
- Daily production reports, downtime logs, and shift handover registers.
Experience Context
- Plant floor exposure within automobile component manufacturing units running continuous shifts.
- Handling multiple robotic welding stations producing high volume welded assemblies.
- Absence of this role leads to line stoppages, uncontrolled defects, and missed production targets.
