Core Responsibilities
- Inspect fresh fruits and vegetables at sourcing locations using visual inspection sheets grading charts and sample trays.
- Measure size weight and maturity of produce with weighing scales calipers and maturity reference cards.
- Record grading results on physical quality logs and digital registers maintained for each sourcing lot.
- Check packaging materials by reviewing carton strength liners labels and pallet arrangements before dispatch.
- Verify dispatch readiness through checklist documents linked to customer quality specifications.
- Prepare rejection notes supported by photographs sample tags and written inspection records.
Skills and Technical Exposure
- Produce grading tables sorting racks and manual inspection tools.
- Digital weighing scales refractometers and moisture meters.
- Quality inspection checklists and lot wise grading formats.
- Spreadsheet software used for daily quality registers.
- Packaging inspection guides and dispatch verification documents.
Experience Context
- Work takes place at farm gates mandis and warehouse sites where fresh produce is handled in bulk.
- Each shift involves inspection of multiple lots covering hundreds of kilograms across varied commodities.
- In the absence of this role non compliant produce reaches packing lines leading to customer rejection and wastage.
