Core Responsibilities
- Install robotic arms on shop floor frames using torque tools, alignment gauges, and approved installation drawings.
- Load robot programs into controllers through teach pendants and verify motion paths using dry run checklists.
- Connect welding guns, grippers, and material handling end effectors with power cables and signal connectors.
- Inspect robot cell safety using interlock wiring diagrams, light curtain layouts, and safety validation sheets.
- Conduct onsite trial runs by monitoring cycle time reports, weld bead samples, and handling accuracy logs.
- Document change records, backup files, and commissioning reports within controlled project folders.
Skills and Technical Exposure
- Industrial robots from Yaskawa, Fanuc, Panasonic, Kuka, ABB, OTC, and Kawasaki.
- Robot teach pendants and controller configuration screens.
- Spot welding guns, material handling grippers, and servo driven tooling.
- Robot simulation and offline programming software.
- Electrical schematics, robot layout drawings, and commissioning documents.
Experience Context
- Work takes place at active manufacturing sites with robotic welding and handling lines.
- The role supports projects involving multiple robot cells, conveyors, and auxiliary equipment.
- Without this role, robot cells remain idle, safety checks remain incomplete, and production trials stop.
