Core Responsibilities
- Handle segregation, labeling, storage, and disposal of biohazard and chemical waste using approved containers, manifests, and disposal records.
- Perform environmental and workplace sampling with air samplers, surface swabs, and collection logs for laboratory and plant areas.
- Verify compliance against biosafety manuals, occupational safety guidelines, and good manufacturing practice documents through checklist based inspections.
- Maintain standard operating procedures, safety permits, and corrective action records in controlled document systems.
- Conduct incident investigations using root cause forms, incident registers, and corrective action tracking sheets.
- Deliver biosafety and chemical safety sessions using training modules, attendance sheets, and assessment records.
Skills and Technical Exposure
- Biosafety level one and biosafety level three laboratory guidelines and manuals.
- Personal protective equipment specifications, chemical safety data sheets, and hazard labeling systems.
- Environmental monitoring tools including air sampling devices and contamination detection kits.
- Incident reporting formats, corrective action preventive action documents, and audit reports.
- Good manufacturing practice documentation and laboratory safety inspection checklists.
Experience Context
- Work exposure within pharmaceutical manufacturing plants and controlled biological laboratories.
- Hands on handling of hazardous materials generated from production batches and laboratory testing.
- Support of safety systems where absence may result in regulatory non compliance and workplace incidents.
