Core Responsibilities
- Review conveyor layouts, crusher GA drawings, chute profiles, and transfer tower drawings using approved engineering documents.
- Inspect fabricated hoppers, feeders, pulleys, idlers, gearboxes, and couplings against fabrication drawings and bill of materials.
- Verify welding joints, bolt torquing, shaft alignment, and structural levels during equipment erection at site.
- Check dimensional tolerances using measuring tools before mechanical clearance for commissioning stages.
- Monitor installation of crushers, screens, and material handling equipment against approved erection sequences.
- Validate lifting plans, permit-to-work documents, and mechanical safety checklists before heavy lifts.
Skills & Technical Exposure
- AutoCAD for interpreting GA, fabrication, and layout drawings.
- Crushing and screening equipment including jaw crushers, cone crushers, and vibrating screens.
- Bulk material handling systems such as belt conveyors, feeders, hoppers, and chutes.
- Fabrication documents including WPS, BOMs, and inspection checklists.
- Measuring instruments such as spirit levels, dial gauges, feeler gauges, and torque wrenches.
- Standards and codes including IS, DIN, and ASTM.
Experience Context
- Work is carried out at active project sites handling RMHS and bulk material handling installations.
- Daily involvement with heavy mechanical equipment, structural assemblies, and rotating machinery.
- Projects involve multiple conveyors, crushers, and transfer points operating under load conditions.
- Absence of this role can result in misalignment, premature equipment failure, and unsafe commissioning.
